WHAT IS IT?

The Local Access Service consists of:
  • A Local Access Line from a TelstraClear telephone exchange to the SDP at a Customer Site;
  • Assignment of a Directory Number or numbers associated with the Local access Line;
  • Configuration and activation of Local Calling Service on the assigned Local Access Line;
  • Maintenance of TelstraClear owned plant and facilities.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

There are five components that form the Wholesale local service product portfolio, these are Analogue lines, Feature lines, ISDN (BRI and PRI), Gateway lines and DDI’s.
  • Analogue Access Circuits
    • The Analogue line service is a both-way single POTS (plain old telephone service) line provided without a handset and terminated on a krone frame or BT jack. It allows basic connectivity for voice calls, and can be connected to a fax or modem. It can also be used to connect to PABX and Key systems.
  • Feature Lines
    • The Feature line service is a single POTS (plain old telephone service) line provided without a handset and terminated on a krone frame or BT jack with optional additional features.
  • Gateway Lines
    • Gateway is TelstraClear’s wholesale virtual or remote telephone exchange service, where the switching functionality is contained within a central office switch.
    • Features available are Call waiting, Call Forward, Caller Display, Call Pickup, 3-Way Conference, Call Park, Speed Dial, Last Call Received, Do Not Disturb, Multiple Number and Reminder Call. Further details are available on request.
  • ISDN
    • TelstraClear ISDN Basic and Primary rate services are available in most New Zealand Cities including Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Specific details are available on request.
    • Basic Rate ISDN which is a lower data rate service
    • Primary Rate ISDN which is a higher data rate service
  • DDI Numbers
    • Direct Dial In (DDI) numbers may be supplied with all of the above services on request.
